Acne isn’t medically dangerous; in our experience acne can be spoil our overall appearance and upsetting to the people because it may caused distress and untreated acne can leave permanent scars.
Acne occurs when the pores on skin are blocked with either oil, bacteria or dead skin. Pores are the opening to follicles and acne will form when they produce too much oil or sebum, blocking of dead skin cells or when bacteria accumulates in the pore. A combination of all three will contribute to trigger of acne.
Hormonal changes are the most common trigger for acne, either in puberty or through pregnancy. Poor personal hygiene can also contribute. A diet that is high in fat or sugars and certain medications, such as the contraceptive pill and corticosteroids, can also trigger acne.
